Vermilion County officials who were recently elected will be sworn in Monday at 9 a.m. in the courthouse. Judge Thomas O’Shaughnessy will administer the oath of office. Those being sworn in include Sheriff Pat Hartshorn, County Clerk Cathy Jenkins, Treasurer Darren Duncan, Supervisor of Assessments Matthew Long, Board of Review members bob Huffman, Amanda Shepherd and Jay Fruling, and Regional Superintendent of Schools Cheryl Reifsteck. The newly elected county board members will be sworn in at 6 p.m. Monday in the County Board chambers as part of the reorganizational meeting. Board members will elect a chairman, establish committees and set the structure of the board for the next two years. Since the Republican hold a majority on the board, Larry Baughn is expected to be re-elected chairman. A regular meeting will follow the reorganization session.
