A Danville man has been sentenced to 24-years in prison for beating an 86-year old man during a home invasion. In 2016, Tyren Wilson broke into John Golden’s senior living apartment in Tilton. Wilson pistol-whipped Golden and held him hostage as officers surrounded the outside.
Tilton police were called in April of 2016 after Wilson entered a residence in the Coach Light Trailer Park. As police arrived, Wilson ran to an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Glendale Street and entered an 88-year-old woman’s apartment through an unlocked door. Court records say Wilson tried to rob her, but she was able to escape out a back door. Wilson then broke through a wall into the next apartment, where he attacked Golden.
In June 2017, Wilson was declared unfit to stand trial. Eight months later he was declared fit. He changed his not guilty plea under a plea agreement with a special prosecutor where several charges were dropped.
