THE UNEMPLOYMENT RATE FELL IN MOST OF THE STATE’S METRO AREAS LAST MONTH.
In Vermilion County the jobless rate fell to 5.1 percent, a drop from 5.8 last year. In the City of Danville it fell to 5.6 percent, a decrease from 6.7 percent in 2017. In Champaign County and the city of Champaign it went up to 3.8 percent, from 3.7 percent last year. In the city of Urbana, the jobless is 3.9 percent, up from 3.7 a year ago.
