A 13-year-old Vermilion County boy is facing charges of falsely making a terrorism threat and disorderly conduct. Vermilion County Sheriff’s deputies released the boy to the custody of a parent, pending further action in juvenile court. The youth is charged with making a random threat via a text message against Bismarck-Henning-Rossville-Alvin High School. Police said it was a ‘’very indirect threat’ and he do not believe that students at the school were ever in any danger. School officials, however, sent an alert to parents and also asked for and received an extra police presence at the school before the boy was taken into custody. The boy is not a student at the school, but he previously attended school there.
