Danville Mayor Scott Eisenhauer has been officially hired to be the Rantoul village administrator. Rantoul’s village board of trustees approved an agreement Tuesday night.
He will be paid $100,000 a year and will earn additional salary upon completion of bachelor’s and master’s degrees. There also is a residency requirement within six months , 12 months if building a home.
Eisenhauer’s last day as Danville mayor will be Nov. 4, the day prior to starting in Rantoul.
Danville aldermen are expected to discuss who will serve as the interim Danville Mayor for the 6 months before the city election. The city attorney has said that the by-laws now state that only an alderman can be appointed interim mayor.
