Danville Police are probing the shooting of a 14-year-old boy late Saturday night. Public Safety Director Larry Thomason says the shooting occurred in the area of Griffin and Fairchild Street. Thomason says police received a call about midnight and found a teenager who said he was walking on Griffin Street when someone came up from behind and shot him. He told police he saw two people running after being shot. The victim was transported to a Champaign-Urbana hospital where he underwent surgery. Police are not releasing other information at this time.
