Danville Mayor Scott Eisenhauer is a finalist for a job in Rantoul. Eisenhauer was one of three candidates interviewed for the job of village administrator in Rantoul. The new village administrator will replace the one who is leaving at the end of September.
A group of citizens have pushed for Danville residents to vote for a city manager form of government on the Nov. 6 ballot. That would leave the mayor’s post part-time, so Eisenhauer is exploring other possible jobs. He has been mayor of Danville for 15 years. Eisenhauer’s term ends in April 2019. If he leaves before his term is up, the city council will have to choose a successor. Vice Mayor Brenda Brown would not automatically fill the vacancy.
The other Rantoul candidates are a private consultant who has been city manager, and a man who is the city manager in East Peoria.
