The FBI and Illinois State Police are investigating a Vermilion County assistant state’s attorney. State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy said the state police informed her of its investigation into the actions of the employee on Monday. Upon further investigation, she contacted the U.S. attorney’s office to notify them of the information that was discovered.
The employee has been placed on unpaid administrative leave, pending further investigation. Lacy says her office is fully cooperating with investigators and no person is above the law.
