Watchfire Signs of Danville beat out worldwide competition to land a $30 million project for a light show in Las Vegas. Watchfire will reboot the giant LED canopy that is suspended above the pedestrian mall in vintage Vegas, in an area known as the Fremont Street Experience. It is viewed by millions of people each year, and is the largest video screen in the world.
The Watchfire reboot will deliver a screen that is seven times brighter and four time sharper than the original. It will use 49 million LED lights.
The light show material will be assembled in Danville and delivered early next year to Vegas. It will be installed in eight sections. Watchfire says it will mean new jobs, but how many is unknown.
