A Danville woman who is charged with murder has entered a not guilty plea in circuit court. Forty-nine year old Shelley Murphy is charged in connection with the death of 61-year-old Daye Lynn Murphy. Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in the 500 block of Vance Lane just west of Danville on a report that someone there was dead. Investigators determined that Daye Lynn Murphy had been involved in a physical altercation with Shelley Murphy and died as a result of the altercation. Prosecutors in court said Shelley Murphy struck Daye Murphy several times, including a blow to the side of the head that caused internal bleeding. Daye Murphy went into another room and was not discovered for several days. Shelley Murphy’s bond was set at $1-million and she was remanded to jail in lieu of bond.
