Danville motorists are being advised to avoid the intersection of English and Jackson Streets for the next few months. The intersection is being reconstructed into a roundabout, where traffic constantly moves in a circular direction with vehicles always exiting to the right. The street will be closed, so Motorists are advised to use Vermilion and Hazel streets as their north-south routes. The cost of the project is $734,000. The intersection’s offset legs of Jackson Street will be corrected as part of the Jackson Street corridor improvement project. City officials hope this will reduce speeds and improve safety.
