The Danville Public Services Committee will consider combining the city’s Danville Area Planning and Zoning Commission and Danville Zoning Board of Appeals into one body. The city has had difficulty in finding persons to serve and attend zoning commission meetings. There have been multiple times there isn’t a quorum to act on zoning items at monthly meetings. The city’s zoning board of appeals only meets for certain issues, such as variances and appeals.
Making this change to the city’s code of ordinances would be the first step. The city’s zoning ordinance would have to be changed too, with the changes also going through the zoning commission.
