Persons who had gone to the residence found Jackson on the floor in the home and reported him to be unresponsive. Officers called for medical personnel, and they declared the man dead.
From the initial investigation the Police Division is working the incident as a homicide. The cause of death is yet to be disclosed. From all indications the male lived at the residence, according to Thomason.

Danville is not the only city facing homicide incidents. The fatal shooting early Saturday of a Champaign man brought to about 60 the number of shootings in Champaign, Urbana and Champaign County for 2018.
Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup said the victim was 27 year old Martez Taylor. Police said he was shot as he sat in a car outside a home in Urbana.
In another incident, a teenager was hospitalized for a gunshot wound in his back. Urbana police said the teen was riding on the handlebars of a bicycle that another young man was peddling when the shots were fired. Police believe that there was more than one shooter and that they were waiting for the youth and his friend.
