THE UNEMPLOYMENT RATE FELL IN ALL OF THE STATE’S 14 METRO AREAS FOR THE THIRD MONTH IN A ROW.
The jobless rate in Vermilion County fell to 5.1 percent. It was 5.7 a year ago. In Danville unemployment was 5.7 percent, down from 6.8 last year. In Champaign County, it was 3.6 percent, a drop from 3.8 in 2017. The city of Urbana has a jobless rate of 3.6, down from 4 percent last year. And in the city of Champaign, it is 3.6, down from 3.8 percent.
