The Danville city council next month will vote on a permanent, earlier curfew for juveniles in Danville. The idea was approved by a committee, and will go to the full council on June 5.
Under the proposal, anyone under 18 and not supervised by a parent or guardian can’t be out past 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays or 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. There are some exceptions like youngsters returning from a job or a school function.
The city has imposed the earlier curfew hours the past two summers, and city officials have said that it’s helped keep youth off the streets. So they want to make it permanent and year-around.
