Two people are in custody in connection with an armed robbery at a Danville Subway restaurant. Director of Public Safety Larry Thomason said that police received a call of an armed robbery at the Subway, 2713 N Vermilion at about 9:15 PM Tuesday.
Employees said two males with faces covered, entered the business and jumped over the counter. One of the subjects was armed with what appeared to be a handgun and they demanded money. An undisclosed amount was given to the subjects and they fled on foot. No employee was injured during the incident.
According to Thomason, Danville police detectives stopped a vehicle Wednesday morning and took into custody the two males. Detectives recovered the stolen monies and a handgun. Both subjects are being held on preliminary charges of Armed Robbery and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. One subject arrested is 18 year old Cameron Johnson of Danville. The other subject is 16 years old and is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center.
