The Danville Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Sunday night at the Phillips 66 Gas Station in the 600 block of S. Bowman Ave. An employee told police she was robbed by three male subjects who were dressed in dark clothing and wearing masks over their faces. The suspects entered the store armed with handguns and demanded money from the register. One of the suspects sprayed pepper spray at the employee before taking the money from the drawer. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash from the drawer and then fled on foot. The employee was treated at the scene for minor injuries from the effects of the pepper spray. No other injuries were reported during this incident.
The description of the suspects in this robbery are similar to those reported during several other recent armed robberies in the area. One at the same gas station and another at the Burger King. Danville Police Investigators are trying to determine if the same suspects are responsible for these robberies.
